Brown Butter Rice Crispy Treats
Ingredients
5 tbsp butter
1 vanilla bean (seeds scraped) (or 1 tsp vanilla bean paste)
1/4 tsp salt
10 oz mini marshmallows
5 1/2 c. rice crispy cereal
Butter a 9x9 square pan and set aside.
In a large pot, cook the butter over low heat until the butter is a deep carmel color and smells toasty. Add the seeds from the vanilla bean, salt, and marshmallows. Continue cooking over low heat until the marshmallows are completely melted. Add the cereal and stir until fully coated by the marshmallow mixture. Press into your prepped pan.
* I butter my hands or a spatula when pressing down. This helps it not stick everywhere.
